Having problems with the sound in Microsoft Teams? Don't worry, we have the solutions!

Common causes of audio problems in Teams

There are several common reasons why audio can disappear in Microsoft Teams. One of the most common is that the microphone or speakers are not properly connected or configured. But if this is not the case, we have developed a step-by-step guide to get it working again.

Step by step guide.

First of all, let's check some common reasons for the audio not working:

  1. Restart Teams: Sometimes a simple restart of the program can solve the problem.
  2. Check the audio settings: Make sure the correct audio device is selected in Teams. Go to "Settings" > "Devices" and check that your speaker or headset is selected as the audio output (if you know this, skip to step 4).
  3. Volume control: Double check that the volume on your computer and in Teams is turned up and not off. Sometimes it can be as simple as the volume being turned down.

  4. Windows update: Check if you have updates waiting to be installed. There may be hidden updates that can prevent the sound from working. Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Alternative updates > Here there may be a row of hidden updates. Feel free to run them!

  5. Update drivers: Make sure your audio drivers are up to date. Go to device manager and check if there are any updates available.
  6. Test with other programs: Try playing audio from another application to see if the problem is specific to Teams.
